On November 21-22 in Tbilisi was held a workshop on localization of a National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in Georgia. The organizers were: IDP Women Association “Consent”, Global Network of Women Peacebuilders and UN Women. The workshop was funded by UN Women and the Austrian Development Agency.
The Workshop brought together representatives of central and local Government, civil society working on the agenda WPS. Two-day discussion focused on the ways how to create and implement at local level NAP of the UN SC Resolution 1325. International experience was shared by the representatives of Global Network of Women Peacebuilders.
Guest speakers and facilitators were: Gerhard Shaumberger - head of Austrian Development Cooperation, Erika Kvapilova – UN Women representative in Georgia, Mavic Cabrera Baleza – Global Network of Women Peacebuilders, Julia Kharashvili – IDP Women Association “Consent”.
